About Ginkgo Holdings

Why Ginkgo

We love the Ginkgo Tree, it is hailed as “undoubtedly one of the most distinct and beautiful of all deciduous trees,” the ginkgo certainly stands out. While many focus on the beauty of the leaves–particularly in the fall when they turn bright yellow, there are a few other words that come to mind when we think about the Ginkgo Tree. This tree is hardy and resilient, able to withstand the rough conditions of city life.

The tree, like our company, will continue to grow and thrive in any environment.

Extreme examples of the ginkgo’s tenacity may be seen in Hiroshima, Japan, where six trees growing within 1.5 miles of the 1945 atom bomb explosion were among the few living things in the area to survive the blast. Although almost all other plants (and animals) in the area were killed, the ginkgos, though charred, survived and were soon healthy again.

We strive to be like the ginkgo tree. No matter what the market does or how we are impacted, we will not only make it through, but quickly grow and thrive in our new environment.

Ginkgo trees can live up to 3,000 years. While our company is not quite that old, our aspirations are lofty and and we intend to provide investment opportunities for many years to come.

TiM STEELE

Managing Partner

With an entrepreneur’s spirit, Tim lived his early years providing services recycling, carrying newspapers and lawn care. Then, joining the Marines out of high school, he traveled the world while performing military service. It was in business school, where he excelled, graduating with high honors, that he developed the skills to grow a real estate business.

Always a saver, investing came early to Tim. At just 12 years old, he started investing in CD’s (Certificates of Deposit). During military service, he learned the value of government bonds. Not long after, he would begin to diversify with stocks and mutual funds. In 2002, Tim purchased his first property and began his real estate investing journey.

House and Home Properties, LLC was created in 2011. Through his company, Tim found a variety of investment opportunities renting, flipping, land banking, wholesaling, spec building, and multifamily investing. With a record of renovating extremely distressed properties, Tim grew a thriving business rehabbing unloved houses into beautiful family homes.

Why Multifamily

The many advantages to owning multifamily real estate such as huge tax savings, stable cashflow, increased leverage and controlled management, are what attracted Tim to multifamily. He created Ginkgo Holdings, LLC to form partnerships with family and friends to acquire and operate multifamily apartment buildings.

Tim believes real estate investing has given his family an enhanced quality of life. It has provided his family with not only financial freedom but also freedom of time. He wants to share the opportunities found in real estate and spread the wealth with family and friends.
